Call for papers: “Radical Rights in the Americas”

The dossier “Radical Right in the Americas” aims to bring together studies that take as their backdrop the emergence in the 20th and 21st centuries of political forces identified with the extreme right, here called the “radical right”, according to Enzo Traverso in Las nuevas caras de la derecha (2018). With a large presence on social networks and electorally competitive, these forces present diffuse political platforms, but they largely converge on moral conservatism, economic liberalism, violent management of populations, the promotion of “culture wars” and the market as the only space for sociability. From this context, the dossier aims to bring together studies in the field of history or in dialogue with it, which discuss the genealogies of the “radical right”, its intellectuals, influencers and political leaders, the means and ways of disseminating its ideals, its think tanks, its relations with the world's economic powers, among other topics.
